X-Files Movie, A big disappointment

Image

Warning, following contains spoilers!!!

I went for early screening of X-Files the movie yesterday, and like most of the people who saw the movie I was not the only one who though the movie was a big big disappointment.

Chris Carter made some really good x-files shows before, but this one was utterly a large mess. The movie was promoted and talked about a lot, and there was lot of secrecy surrounding it. However it is a completely different story once you go into a movie theatre and watch it.

Story was about some russian doctors trying to keep a person alive by kidnapping other people and then using their body parts for this monster. Chemistry between Scully and Mulder faded away the more I watched it. The story kept shifting without proper explanations and there was parts that were hard to understand even by expert x-filers.

There was not to many supernatural things in this movie, other then a psychic person who lead them to find the kidnappers and killers. This movie could be more related to the "Saw" series rather then x-files.

The movie was filmed in pemberton and downtown Vancouver and you can see many familiar backdrops and stages. Especially when the black helicopter lands down on the building in downtown for example. In any case I would not recommend this movie to any serious x-files fans. I think this movie will flop big time in the box office this weekend.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

ImageHollywood movie watchers, Let's get to real!, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is not a great movie!! Yes, you could go to this film, keep guessing at the predictability and the prattling, the lack of the logic, the complete time-space tomfoolry, the moronity in plot device, and the elongated back to back setpieces. Sure you could, and you will not be wrong!

I believe it is a formulaic plot. But again don't you think the Last Crusade was the best of the series acknowledge that it happened simply because it stuck to formula? This is Indiana Jones, for God's sake, and enven if Harrison Ford is now 64, we still want to be able to call him, our friendly 'Henry' Junior like his dad did. And this film lets that happen!

Then again, you could choose to tell yourself that you are watching - after nineteen long years, another Indiana Jones movie, let that theme tune play loud and clear in your head
